EMM® Platform Delivers New Features for Device Management, Enterprise Activation and
Compliance Enforcement for iPhone® OS
McLean, Virginia – July 15, 2009 – Trust Digital, the leader in enterprise mobility management (EMM) for smartphones, today announced enhanced device management and security capabilities for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and the iPod Touch. The Trust Digital EMM platform, which includes an EMM Agent available on the Apple App Store, is the only enterprise solution providing a centralized management console decoupled from Microsoft Exchange 2007, enabling any IT department to deploy, manage, secure and control their iPhone OS devices. Given Apple’s recent addition of features aimed at the security conscious enterprise including "always-on" device encryption, tethering, resource controls and on-demand VPN, the iPhone 3GS now lacks only a management console to be fully "enterprise-ready" – Trust Digital's EMM platform provides that management console for the iPhone and all other non-Blackberry devices.

The latest release of the Trust Digital EMM platform provides IT stakeholders with new features and facilities that simplify deployment and support of the iPhone 3GS:
- A browser-based console that unifies the management of iPhone policies and configurations, whether they are ActiveSync or Config Policies, under a single policy management system.
- A management console that is decoupled from the email server, thereby simplifying management and supporting Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes and Google Gmail environments.
- Automated activation of the iPhone OS family for business use through a free activation agent that business users download from the Apple App Store (EMM Agent). Using their email credentials, business users can automatically activate device security policies and configure email, WiFi and VPN settings for secure access to work.
- Granular security compliance enforcement for the iPhone 3GS. Full device loss protection requires pin or password policies to be used with data-at-rest device encryption. The new Trust Digital release performs a compliance check on all user devices before they enter the corporate network. This ensures that only devices with "Passcode Lock" (i.e. pin or password) turned on are allowed to sync with corporate email. The flexibility of this approach allows the platform to be used with both hosted and IT-supported email services. Because the EMM Access Manager operates in the DMZ, IT does not have to publish ActiveSync directly to the Internet, providing an added layer of security.
