Smartphone Security V7.3 Raises the Bar For Mobile Security Applications
McLean, Virginia, – February 19, 2008 – Trust Digital, the leading smartphone security management provider, today announced that its Smartphone Security V7.3 received an outstanding five stars for Features and Ease of Use categories in SC Magazine's Test Lab in Portable Device Security. Garnering four out of five stars in the Performance category, the product's overall rating was four out of five stars.
As organizations of all sizes including enterprises, government agencies, educational centers and healthcare organizations embrace the concept of employee mobility, IT managers are challenged with securing corporate data on smartphone devices. While smartphones are one of the most relied upon devices to stay connected, organizations tend to focus on laptops, leaving a door open for data loss in smartphones. When one becomes lost or stolen the results can be catastrophic if sensitive — and sometimes irreplaceable — data becomes exposed to the world.
Other categories reviewed by SC Magazine were Performance, Documentation, Support and Value for Money – with Trust Digital receiving ratings of average to above average in all four categories. As part of our focus on continuous product improvement we intend to be "five stars" in all categories. To that end, the company recently hired Michael Morgan and Scott Yaunches to build out Trust Digital's worldwide sales and customer support teams. Their key responsibilities will include overseeing both government and commercial customers along with managing the customer support services function.
Trust Digital is also the recipient of the 2007 Reader Trust Award in the 10th annual SC Magazine Award program.
COMMENTARY
"This might be the toughest group review we've had in the SC Labs in a long time... We consider a PDA or a smartphone to be a unique beast," said Peter Stephenson, technology editor at SC Magazine. He pointed out that one of Trust Digital’s Smartphone Security V7.3 strengths is its "simple management for the entire smartphone security lifecycle."
"We are definitely very pleased with the results of this review," said Nick Magliato, CEO, Trust Digital. "Building awareness and driving education around mobile security strategies is imperative and we believe publications such as SC Magazine will have a huge impact in elevating the issue within organizations who have not yet implemented a strategy as part of their overall security deployment plan."
